the day.. Wednesday

a :

today I decided to change things up a bit, well, just because i can. combine a post with h, to make it one post by  us .

not the very best of my pictures.

it is indeed wednesday today and it feels like the weekend is coming soon already. or as h says, it's hump day, a concept she introduced me to.

                    hump day:

The middle of a work week (Wednesday); used in the context of climbing a proverbial hill
to get through a tough week.
                    (from Urban Dictionary)

knowing today is hump day makes it a little easier to get through the rest of the week. means i have thursday, friday and saturday through till my one-day weekend.

wednesday is also one of my long days. work goes on all day and then i have vietnamese language classes at 6.30pm. learning a language now is definitely much harder than it used to be. i am lucky enough that i have a few basics from when i was little and that the language is similar to cantonese, slightly at least.

anyways, if you're reading, thank you.
i'm new to this blogging thing and hope i haven't bored your brains out.

goodnight, love a.

h :

Wednesdays often feel like the start of the weekend coming.
before not so much, but now that both a and i are working full-time jobs, we cherish our weekends. especially a. she only has ONE day.

Tonight, i managed to have dinner with two of my closest friends i went to uni with at Monsoon Poon. just us 3 girls catching up over mocktails (we do all have to work tomorrow) and yummy food.
their decor is strongly Thai, but food is a mix of south-east asian...and very good! if you can't handle much spicy food, i recommend the Shaking Beef and Singapore Fried Noodles, otherwise the Firecracker Chicken and Bali Prawns are super spicy but to die for!

i've been reading "The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin every night before bed and found a multitude of amazing ideas, quotes and great stories. although it does give off a bit of a 'self-help' vibe, even if you aren't particularly un-happy and it's good to just want to become a happy-er person.

One really important thing i picked up from THP was for a blog to run we have to post every. day. so a and i are aiming to do that. posting, even just a short one, every. day.
love, h
